Lantern Parade |
Saturday, November 23, 6:00 p.m. Hermann's Christmas season officially begins with a Lantern Parade through downtown, starting and ending at the Amphitheater. In Germany, the traditional Festival of Lanterns celebrates the generosity and compassion of Martin of Tours, a German knight who gave half his coat to a beggar. Christmas carols and refreshments after the parade. All ages welcome. |

Lewis & Clark Christmas |
Friday and Saturday, December 6-7. The St. Charles Corps of Discovery begins its annual Christmas celebration with a Friday night dinner and dance at the Festhalle (tickets required). Reenactors stage a winter encampment with hands-on activities at the Hofgarten from noon to 4:00 on Saturday, followed by a lantern parade at 5:00. |
