To request funding from the Hermann Arts Council, please email Arts Council President Gerald Korman, Requests must be received by the 1st of the month to be discussed at the current month's meeting. Grant requests should include the following information:

  • Date of submission
  • Applicant's name and contact information
  • Name of organization, if applicable
  • Brief description of funding request
  • Amount requested
  • Brief description of how grant funds will be spent
  • Other sources of funding and expected income, if any

#121. Portable Art Display Board for Hermann Elementary School

#120. Crusade Against Cancer celebratory event, 6:00 to 10 p.m., Friday, June 1, at the City Park Pavilion and Rotunda. Entertainment will feature "A Luau Celebration with the Bluff-Tones and Friends." There will also be refreshments provided by local service groups, a meal for survivors, silent auction, carnival games, team competitions, and the annual Pilgrimage of Lights ceremony. Wine and beer will be served in the Pavilion

#119. Annual Spring Concert of the Hermann Instrumental Music Department at the Amphitheater on May 8, 2012, with performances by the Beginning Band, 7th Grade Concert Band, Hermann High School Dixieland Band, Hermann Middle School Rock Band and the Hermann High School Wind Ensemble. A small awards ceremony will recognize outstanding student musicians. In the event of rain, the program will be held at the Hermann High School Auditorium.

#118. Hermannpalooza at the Amphitheater on May 5, 2012, a semiannual event featuring youth bands, co-sponsored by Hermann High School.

#117. Roundhouse Rascals, a traditional Dixieland and Ragtime group, featuring banjo player from Australia and Nora Hulse on piano, will perform at the Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. on July 15, 2012. In the event of rain, the program will be held at the Hermann High School Auditorium.

#116. In combination with Grant #112, a Jazz Festival at the Amphitheater at 7:00 p.m. on May 6, 2012, featuring John Berkemeyer's Jazz Ensemble and the East Central College Jazz Band. In the event of rain, the program will be held at the Hermann High School Auditorium.

#114. A program featuring African storytelling and percussion to be presented at Hermann Elementary School. St. George Elementary School also will be invited. The program will feature Mtendaji, an accomplished musician who has taught throughout the St. Louis area and was the founding director of Taifa/Afi Ama Folkloric Productions. The company’s recording “Stories from the Heart” won the Parent’s Choice award in 1992. Date to be determined.

#113.  Missouri State Concert Chorale at St. George Catholic Church at 4:00 p.m. on either Sunday, February 5 or March 4, 2012. This group has performed in Hermann for some 20 years, drawing larger crowds every year.

#112. The East Central College Jazz Band will again perform in Hermann. The purpose of this event is to encourage the study of jazz music and to provide our community with an evening of good music. The jazz band is directed by Aaron Bounds, a graduate of Hermann High School, and includes Daniel Nuener, a former HHS band member.

#111.  Irish Kaleidoscope. The Kansas City based Cultural Kaleidoscope has been bringing multi-cultural, educational programs to students for the past 19 years. Two performances at Hermann Elementary School will provide support to the social studies, language and fine arts curriculum. St. George students also will be invited.

# 98. Pianist Behzod Abduraimov will perform at the Hermann High School on April 10, 2011 at 2 pm. This will be a free concert. The purpose of this concert is not only for music lover's appreciation, but to afford the opportunity for aspiring musicians to experience e a world class piano concert event.
